MMW Participated in the International Conference Grain Ukraine 2026

On June 4–5, 2026, the international grain conference Grain Ukraine 2026 was held in Kyiv, bringing together more than 50 speakers — experts in agricultural trade, logistics, and finance — as well as around 500 industry participants.

The conference slogan, “The New Grain Order,” reflected a comprehensive rethinking of both the global and Ukrainian agricultural markets and the development of long-term strategies with a 20–25-year horizon.

The key message of the event was the transition from raw commodity exports to value-added processing. Today, 43% of Ukraine’s exports still consist of raw materials, while 57% are processed products. Over recent years, the share of processed products has increased by 10%.

Particular attention was paid to logistics development. Despite wartime risks and attacks on port infrastructure, Ukrainian businesses continue to find effective logistics solutions that ensure sustainable growth and support both export and import cargo flows.

Representing Mykolaiv Grain Terminal (MMW), Head of Commercial Department Oleksandr Tryshchan participated in the conference. During active networking sessions, preliminary cooperation agreements were reached with potential terminal clients, including Agroprosperis, Hermes Trading, TAS Agro, and other companies.

Meetings were also held with representatives of major grain terminals in the Greater Odesa region, including TransbalkTerminal, ILYICHEVSKVNESTRANS (IVT), Prista Oil Ukraine, and TEUS Terminal, to discuss the current market situation, plans for the new season, and anticipated changes in transshipment rates.

Key outcomes of the meetings included:

  • Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) with clients are currently being prepared for signing;
  • the projected transshipment rate in the ports of Greater Odesa for the 2026/27 season is expected to average USD 7.5–8.5 per metric ton;
  • for post-war Mykolaiv, the projected rate is expected to range between USD 5.5–6.5 per metric ton, excluding VAT;
  • eastern, northeastern, and central regions of Ukraine are anticipating the reopening of the Port of Mykolaiv due to the region’s logistical advantages.

Through active communication with representatives of the agricultural and logistics sectors, the company also had the opportunity to present information about the terminal’s current condition, ongoing reconstruction efforts, and other initiatives
