MMW Grain Terminal: A Business with Social Responsibility

As a member of POSCO INTERNATIONAL Grain Terminal MMW not only carries out its core operational activities but also actively supports the city of Mykolaiv by implementing social and environmental initiatives. One of such actions took place from September 9 to September 20, 2024, when employees of the enterprise participated in a large-scale environmental event aimed at improving the city’s territory and combating invasive plant species.
This environmental campaign was initiated and fully funded by the South Korean corporation POSCO INTERNATIONAL. The main objective of the event was to localize and eliminate ragweed and other hazardous allergenic plants. As part of the project, grass cutting and waste removal were carried out in Zavodsky district of Mykolaiv, in particular on Zavodska and Mlynna streets, along railway tracks, on 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Slobidska streets. To ensure high-quality work, new modern equipment was purchased for approximately 41,000 UAH. More than 20 terminal employees took part in the campaign, working selflessly to improve the city’s environment.
Thanks to this effort, the city has become cleaner, and residents of the surrounding areas can breathe more freely without the threat of allergenic plants. This initiative has become another proof that MMW Grain Terminal is not only engaged in economic activities, but also cares about the ecology and comfort of life of Mykolaiv residents.
Corporate social responsibility is not just a slogan but real actions that positively impact the community. Initiatives like this are planned by POSCO INTERNATIONAL on a regular basis and will continue in the future, demonstrating the company’s long-term commitment to sustainable development and improving the environmental situation in the region.
